Flic IoT Gateway

We’re proud to introduce the Flic IoT Gateway, the next step in scalable, independent button connectivity for professional environments.

The Flic IoT Gateway provides a secure, cellular-connected backbone for Flic deployments – no Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or internal network required.

A New Level of Simplicity and Scale

Flic IoT Gateway in a School environment

In many workplaces – schools, hospitals, construction sites, retail stores, hotels, and restaurants – it’s crucial that staff or visitors can quickly trigger an alert, an assistance request, or a workflow action at any time.

Traditionally, each button would need to be paired individually to a hub. With the Flic IoT Gateway, that’s no longer necessary.

Instead, the Gateway continuously listens for signals from nearby Flic Cloud Buttons and transmits them through its LTE-M/NB-IoT cellular connection to an alarm receiver or backend system, such as one provided by our Flic partners.

This means one IoT Gateway can monitor hundreds or even thousands of personal or fixed-location buttons simultaneously without any manual pairing or on-site network setup.

Mobile Safety and Vehicle Use

The Flic IoT Gateway also includes a GPS module, an external antenna and is powered by USB micro, enabling it to serve as a reliable mobile safety node.

When installed in cars, trucks, or service vehicles, it can provide connected emergency or assistance buttons for drivers, independent of any onboard Wi-Fi or smartphone connection.

This makes it a practical solution for fleet operators, field services, and mobile workers who need instant, reliable communication in case of emergency.

Versatile Applications Across Industries

The Flic IoT Gateway is purpose-built for organizations that need dependable, large-scale connectivity for wireless buttons. Typical applications include:

  • Education: staff or teacher safety buttons in classrooms and common areas
  • Transportation and Logistics: vehicle-mounted gateways for driver safety and status reporting
  • High security locations: emergency alarms with no access to local networks
  • Healthcare: nurse call or staff safety alerts in hospitals and clinics
  • Construction: emergency alerts and safety triggers on large sites
  • Hospitality and Retail: staff call systems or service requests across facilities

In each case, the Gateway acts as a central, independent receiver, ensuring that every button press is captured and transmitted, even in complex or sensitive environments.

Availability and Pricing

The Flic IoT Gateway is now entering its final development phase, with trial installations for selected customers starting shortly.

Test units are available soon, and full rollout is planned for Q1 next year.

The Gateway is globally certified and will be available with cellular coverage in most major regions from launch, with South America following at a later stage.

Pricing will include a hardware cost plus a service fee, including an active data plan and remote management and monitoring through Flic Device Manager, ensuring seamless connectivity out of the box.

For integration partners and enterprise customers, bulk and regional deployment options will be offered as part of our business program.

Simple. Scalable. Secure.

The Flic IoT Gateway represents a new class of connectivity for professional Flic deployments: a reliable, scalable, and fully independent bridge between physical triggers and digital systems.

Whether mounted in a building or installed in a vehicle, it enables Flic Buttons to operate with minimal setup and maximum reliability.
